Diez rasgos relevantes de identidad humana: Edad, personalidad, nombre, sexo, raza, etnia/nación, clase, labor, rol y credo

Resumen
“Soy artífice de mí mismo” proclamaba a finales del siglo XV Giovanni Pico della Mirandola en El Discurso sobre la Dignidad del Hombre, heraldo renacentista del humanismo. Esta idea de la autoconstrucción personal arraigó con fuerza en la modernidad occidental, pues concedía a cada ser humano la capacidad y la libertad de elegir su destino y definirse. Sin embargo, esta prerrogativa ha sido impugnada al menos desde tres perspectivas: el psicoanálisis subrayó la operación de mecanismos inconscientes en la identidad y la conducta humanas, las ciencias sociales mostraron la poderosa influencia de factores históricos y culturales, y las ciencias psicobiológicas han mostrado el impacto de ingredientes corporales y cerebrales en la conciencia de sí. Conviene entonces retomar el asunto de forma cauta, abierta y genérica: ¿cómo se establece, se erige y se expresa esta construcción de la persona, esta identidad humana?
